Ian Simpson
Ian joined Goldwyns as a partner in July 1999, merging his own successful practice with the firm.
Since establishing his practice in Essex in the mid 1980's, Ian has been involved with the profession as a whole, serving 3 years as Chairman of the Southend on Sea Chartered Accountants Group, and rising to be President of the South Essex Society of Chartered Accountants.
For many years, Ian has concentrated on helping the profession establish it's profile, through active involvement with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and acting as spokesperson in the press and on radio.
He has also assisted a major clearing bank in producing a video to raise awareness among bank staff of the help and services that their SME customers want.
As a Director with Goldwyns, Ian acts for clients who may require assistance with tax returns to multinational groups with turnover up to £40m. He also has a specialism in Consultancy & Investigation assignments, and acts in an advisory capacity to a number of substantial Charities and Professional Bodies, and has appeared as an expert witness in civil disputes. Ian is also the practice IT partner, advising clients on IT development and solutions as well as managing the firms internal IT facilities.
