Alan Shalet
 Alan
Shalet has lived in Southend since 1946 and was educated at
Westcliff High School for Boys, where coincidentally he met
and became friends with John Bermon.
On
leaving school, Alan was articled to Philip Wand, trading
as Philip Wand & Co of Weston Road, Southend-on-Sea and
immediately upon qualifying in 1959 he was made a partner.
In 1965 the firm, then known as Wand, Shalet & Co, amalgamated
with another local firm and became known as Harold Everett,
Wand & Co.
Alan
has always been a practice builder and his clientele has included
many well-known "show business" personalities, as
well as professional and manufacturing businesses both here
in the UK and abroad.
He
has extensive experience in dealing with the Revenue and Customs
and Excise.
He
is associated with several local charities and in his leisure
time enjoys reading, travelling, music, theatre and sport.
